I will dominate 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" the American as the combatants met personally to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead criticized ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the novice continues to be one of the sport's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
